Event Date & Location
ILW 2026 is August 28th through August 30th at the Embassy Suites by Hilton at 101 E Locust St, Des Moines, Iowa 50309
Volunteer shifts range from Thursday, August 27th through Sunday, August 30th and will all be located at the Embassy Suites.
Registration
In order to cover the cost of registration, you will need to volunteer a total of 4 shifts. Shifts are in 2-hour increments.
2 Hour Shift - 25% off the Weekend Pass
4 hour Shift - 50% off the Weekend Pass
6 Hour Shift - 75% off the Weekend Pass
8 Hour Shift - 100% off Weekend Pass
Volunteer Opportunities
Box Office Assistant
Welcome and check in attendees, confirm registrations.
Helpdesk/Bootblack Support
Help attendees find ILW events, answer questions, assist bootblacks.
Performance Space Support
Clearing & maintaining space for Masquerade Ball performance artists.
Runner/Roamer
Assist with specific tasks as needed; support workshop rooms.
Vendor Mart Assistant
Help Vendors as requested; provide merchandise security
Wristband Door Check
Confirm ILW wristbands of those attending exclusive ILW events
Venue Setup/Teardown
Move, setup, and teardown essential event space equipment
